"Error #3 Something went wrong" in Spitfire instrument

Updated over 2 months ago

Error 3 occurs when a plugin is unable to load sample content. This issue can arise if the library content has been moved without relocating or when the sample content is not available.

If you get this message when loading up a Spitfire instrument, please follow the steps below.

First, go to the Spitfire Audio Application and use the "Locate" tool, found in the cog menu on the Library page.

This will fix any broken file paths between the Library Plugin and the Library Contents.

If Locating the library does not work, please try Repairing the library. This will replace and update any missing content.

Note:

If you are using BBC Symphony Orchestra you will also need to repair the plugin.

If you are using Eric Whitacre Choir, repair the Evo Grid, Plugin, and Library.

Other Known Causes of Error 3

On Mac OS 10.14 and above, you might incur Error 3 if your DAW does not have Full Disk Access. To grant Disk Access go to System Preferences > Security and Privacy > Full Disk Access. From here select the padlock in the bottom left, type in your user password to authenticate, and then make sure your DAW and any other applications you are using the libraries within are granted Full Disk Access.
