What is Mervyn Warren Choir?
Mervyn Warren Choir is a detailed sample library that encapsulates the sound of the Black choir outside of a purely gospel context - a first within the sampling world. It captures exceptionally expressive performances from some of the world’s most talented and decorated singers, hand-picked and produced by the legendary Mervyn Warren at Evergreen Studios LA. The library offers a collection of versatile vocal articulations perfect for anything from pop production to epic soundtrack work.
What is included in the library?
The library consists of 20 vocalists, 10 x high (5 x Alto, 5 x Soprano) and 10 x low (5 x Tenor, 5 x Bass).
Vowels, Yeahs, and Mmms: The library includes a wide range of vocal sounds, with presets for techniques such as Longs, Yeahs, Ahh Short, Oh Long, Oh Short, Ooh Long, Ooh Short Staccato, Ooh Short Doo, and Mmm Long.
Legato: Legato patches are available for Aah, Oh, Ooh, and Mmm. These are combined with longs to create the illusion of multiple legato dynamics. Legatos are available for Soprano & Alto and Tenor & Bass sections.
Morphs: The product features the ability to morph between two different vowel sounds (e.g., Ooh -> Aah)
Stacked Sounds: The library includes Stacks where different techniques are layered together to create a bigger, more human sound. This includes combinations such as Aah+Oh, Aah+Ooh, and Aah+Mmm.
Aleatoric Hairpins: There are three techniques that feature aleatoric hairpins for a random, dynamic feel, where each singer increases their dynamic to create an unpredictable moving texture
Body Percussion Kit: A full body percussion kit is included with techniques like Handclaps, Stomps, Fingersnaps, Thigh Slaps, and Chest Beats.
Vocal Expressions: Unique vocal expressions, including Whisper Longs, Exhales, and Inhales.
Why can't I see a 'Mervyn Warren Choir' plugin in my DAW?
This library is housed in our Ensemble plugin, so instead of seeing a 'Mervyn Warren Choir' plugin, you will need to select the 'Spitfire Ensemble' plugin in your plugin list.
The library folder is also named 'Spitfire Audio - Ensemble'.
