Phoenix is a hybrid virtual synthesizer created by BT and Spitfire Audio for composers, sound designers, and producers who want to go beyond a single mono oscillator per note.
Phoenix is a dedicated plugin, but authorisation is linked to your Spitfire Audio account. When you first load Phoenix in your DAW, you’ll be asked to sign in to the Spitfire Audio account that contains your Phoenix purchase and confirm your device using a short code.
Before you start
Make sure you have an internet connection and access to the Spitfire Audio account that contains your Phoenix purchase.
If you’re already signed in to Spitfire Audio in your browser, the authorisation page may use that account automatically.
Authorising Phoenix
1. Load Phoenix in your DAW
Load Phoenix as a virtual instrument in your DAW.
On first launch, Phoenix will display a welcome screen asking you to sign in with your Spitfire Audio account.
Click Sign in with Spitfire Audio.
2. Check the device confirmation code
Phoenix will display a device confirmation code and open the Spitfire Audio authorisation page in your default web browser.
Keep Phoenix open in your DAW while you complete the authorisation process.
3. Confirm that the codes match
In your browser, you’ll see a Spitfire Audio Device Confirmation page.
Check that the code displayed in your browser matches the code shown in Phoenix.
If the codes match, click Confirm.
If you didn’t initiate the authorisation, or the codes don’t match, click Cancel instead.
4. Sign in to your Spitfire Audio account
If you’re not already signed in, you’ll be prompted to log in to your Spitfire Audio account.
Enter the details for the account that contains your Phoenix purchase, then click Continue.
5. Return to Phoenix
Once authorisation is complete, your browser will confirm that you’re all set.
You can then return to your DAW. Phoenix should complete the authorisation process and be ready to use.
You can close the browser window once confirmation is complete.
Troubleshooting
“Your account doesn’t have access to Phoenix”
If you see the message “Your account doesn’t have access to Phoenix”, the Spitfire Audio account currently being used for authorisation does not contain access to Phoenix.
Click Use a different account and sign in using the Spitfire Audio account that contains your Phoenix purchase.
If you have more than one Spitfire Audio account or use multiple email addresses, check that you’re signing in with the same account used to purchase or register Phoenix.
If you believe Phoenix should be available on the account but continue to see this message, please contact Spitfire Audio Support so we can help check your account access.
The browser doesn’t open
If the authorisation page doesn’t open automatically after the device code appears, click Retry in Phoenix.
You may also want to check that your default browser is able to open links from your DAW.
The codes don’t match
Do not confirm the authorisation if the code displayed in your browser is different from the code shown in Phoenix.
Click Cancel, return to Phoenix, and restart the sign-in process to generate a new confirmation code.
