This tool is designed to help users migrate their folder structure from the old "Patches, Presets, Samples" format to the new "LABS pack_name" format. This can help you avoid needing to redownload sample content when updating to the new LABS plugin, or when encountering an error in the plugin that doesn't show a repair option.
Should I use this?
If you see the following folders when you look at your LABS content:
Then this tool is designed for you!
If instead you only see folders like this:
Then this tool is not designed to fix your issue. You most likely are looking for the "repair" option, but if you're still having trouble then get in touch with us using the support tool in the bottom right corner.
How to use:
First you'll need to download the tool from here: LABS Migration Tool
To open the app:
On Windows, unzip the downloaded folder and then double click the "LABS Migration Tool.exe" file.
On macOS, unzip the downloaded folder and then right click the "LABS Migration Tool.app" file and choose "Open".
Once opened you'll see the following screen:
To start, select your "Spitfire Audio - LABS" folder wherever it exists on your system. Below is an example of what this folder may look like if you've already installed some new LABS content.
Next you'll be asked to select your "Spitfire.properties" file. This is the file that tells LABS where to find your packs, and it will be updated with the new content through the tool. If you aren't sure where to find it, please see this article about finding LABS support files.
Finally, click "Run" to allow the tool to process your folders.
If you see a "Success!" message then you can continue to the next step.
If you see an Error, please get in touch with us via the support tool and include a plugin log and your "Spitfire.properties" file.
Last you'll need to open the LABS plugin, either in standalone or in your DAW. You may see all of your migrated packs appear in the plugin with the "Repair" option on the Packs page. Click repair for each pack in order to validate and reauthorize the pack for your device and then the pack will be functioning and ready to play!
The tool will not delete any files from your system, so if you'd like to clean up some extra disc space you can safely delete the "Patches", "Presets", and "Samples" folders once you've confirmed that your packs are working.
If you have any issues with the tool, or experience any errors please reach out via the support tool in the bottom right corner!
